DRIED STRAWBERRIES

The prices for strawberries should be dropping now.  Here is a neat ideas to do with your extra strawberries.  Keep these dried strawberries and add them to you summer salads to give flavor and extra crunch.



DRIED STRAWBERRIES

Direction:

1. Cut strawberries in halves or quarters, depending on their size.
2. Place on a baking sheet; season with salt and pepper;
3. Dry in the oven for three hours at 100° C / 210° F.

Father's Day Love you to Pieces!!

I found the DIY project on Pinterest and thought that this would be a good project for kids to do for Father's Day.  Cost is minimal.  In this project they usede Reese's but any other colorful candies can be used.

Better-than-takeout chicken fried rice

Better-than-takeout chicken fried rice

4 cups rice, prepared
1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cooked)
1 cup peas & carrots, frozen
1 white onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
3 tablespoons sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce

Direction:
Prepare rice according to package instructions to yield 4 cups cooked rice. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add onion, garlic, peas, and carrots.




Stir fry until tender. Crack eggs into pan and scramble, mixing throughout vegetables.



Add rice, chicken, and soy sauce to pan.



Stir in soy sauce and remove from heat.
